PGX Daily Review

PGX Daily is short for PolyGlycopleX – it is a natural daily diet supplement containing water-soluble, polysaccharides (fibres) from konjac root, sodium alginate and xanthan gum.

Webber Naturals, the manufacturer have a seemingly unlimited marketing budget at their disposal and have advertised PGX Daily heavily on TV.

The official explanation as to how PGX Daily can support weight loss is a touch convoluted and confusing. The official PGX Daily website highlights how it can reduce the glycemic index of meals by up to 50%, partly by reducing the speed of digestion.

A simpler explanation would be to describe PGX Daily as an appetite suppressant. Appetite suppressants are incredibly effective at reducing daily calorie consumption. There is also mild fat burning ingredient included.

How Does PGX Work

The ingredients within PGX form a gelatinous mass when consumed that swell in the stomach causing the user to feel fuller quicker. This creates a sense of fullness and satiety that effectively controls appetite for several hours.

PGX Daily Positives

  • Does suppress appetite
  • Product from a trusted manufacturer

PGX Daily Negatives

  • May cause initial bloating, gas and runny stools
  • Expensive for a basic appetite suppressant

PGX Daily Side Effects

Should not cause any severe side effects if taken as recommended. Some mild or minor effects (as mentioned above) such as bloating, excess gas and loose stools.

Does PGX Daily Work

This product does suppress appetite but you will pay a premium for it. PGX is one of Canada’s most popular diet pills.

Where To Buy PGX Daily In Canada

Purchases can be made over the counter in authorized drug stores (such as Shoppers Drug Mart) as well as at a discounted rate via the following Canadian online store:

PGX Daily 150 capsules from Well.ca

Other Diet Pills To Consider

Its hard to ignore Phen375 the synthetic Phentermine alternative that has taken the concept of fat burning and suppressing appetite to another level.

When used in tandem and are formulated correctly these two philosophies work extremely well.

Phen375 is manufactured in an FDA approved laboratory and has been formulated using premium pharmaceutical grade ingredients.

PGX from Natural Factors has worked wonders for me! It has assisted with my portion control, I simply couldn’t finish all the food on my plate when I staretd taking PGX before my meals. I’m also more “regular” thanks to PGX. As for weight loss – so far I have lost 12lbs over 2-1/2 months, it’s a slow and steady loss, which is better than nothing.

Well – In your opinion it is an expensive load of rubbish. But for someone like myself, I have had less cravings for sweets, and have managed to steadily (slowly) lose a bit of weight.

I had significant problems after starting the pill. Mostly my fault given that I am sure that I did not consume enough water while taking the pill. I was severely constipated for almost a month and barely passed anything…to the point of having to go to the doctor. I would be afraid to take it again.

Hoodia is by far a better option ….. its completely natural. All it does is suppress your appetite, there are no known side effects.

it has been used for years and clinically proven.

PGX is overpriced, and caused intestinal bloating for me. I tried Konjac Root supplements that are a quarter of the price of PGX, and it has done wonders for me as I have lost 15 pounds over the past three months without side effects, AND i am saving money!

My personal experience with PGX has been very positive!

I gained weight in my early 20s when my metabolism slowed down and I didn’t change my lifestyle. Despite lots of exercise and eating fairly well (lots of good stuff, maybe a bit too much bad stuff) I found that I still wasn’t losing anything (3 lbs in 2 months… ugh).

My boss swore by PGX so when I saw some at the store I thought I’d try them out, not really expecting anything.

I don’t weight myself other than that the doctor’s so I don’t know that I’ve lost any weight in the month that I’ve been taking them, but I can attest that they curb cravings really well.

I generally eat really well during the day but start to fail around 8 pm when I’m watching tv and get cravings for snack foods. With PGX, I don’t get those at all. I am actively not hungry. I still get mental cravings, more out of habit than anything, but I pause and think “oh, wait, I’m really not hungry” and then I don’t eat. No willpower involved. In fact, the thought of eating is actually offputting.

I take one with breakfast, two with lunch and three with dinner. I don’t take them on weekends and I skip taking them with meals that are very fibrous (e.g., if I eat beans and artichokes, I don’t need to take these pills).

I really recommend them. You probably won’t drop 50 lbs overnight, but if you crave sweet foods these will really help put a stop to that.

The downsides are that they are expensive, so don’t take the 6 per meal that it says on the bottle. Also, they are big ass pills. They are easy enough to swallow but it’s a bit scary at first.

I didn’t experience any of the negative side effects but I eat a lot of fiber and drink a lot of water (even before I started taking PGX) so that probably helped the transition.

Two weeks of taking PGX. Started at one pill per meal, built up to 6 a day. Experiencing daily headaches, nausea, a lot of flatulence… These side effects are too much, for no gain. I recommend giving PGX a pass.

It works for me if I take it regularly, but only one pill before each meal. If I take more than that I would have to live in the bathroom.
It controls my appetite and helps loose weight, very slowly but steady.
I don’t mind the price. It is not that much when you only take 3 pills a day.

I have tried twice to take this – I really want it to work. I am hypoglycemic so cannot just skip meals. Each time I have tried, I get so bloated I have to stop. I will try the powder (vs the pill) – maybe it is the ingredient of the outside pill that is making me so bloated. If not, I will have to try another product.

Like Lipozene, PGX is nothing but glucomannan or konjak root powder, that is available in bulk over the internet, ebay. You save a lot of money, taking a teaspoon instead of 3 capsules. Glucomannan is effective, putting it into gel caps and giving it a fancy name is the American way.

Just started taking PGX this week. First day took 1 before each meal, second day took 2 before each meal. On my 5th day still taking 2 before each meal. Don’t have any bloating or gas but bowel movements are much more frequent. Appetite is definitely curbed. Don’t feel hungry at all. Am not craving extras. I think the secret is to make sure you drink 1 to 2 glasses of water everytime you take the geltabs (no exceptions). I have tried every diet possible unsuccessfully. Really hope this helps. So far so good! Best part of all is that I bought PGX at Giant Tiger for only $20.00 for 150 geltabs. Verdict is still out. Time will only tell!!!

Plain and simple this is a big waste of your money!!!
I went up to the 3 pills(3 weeks) before each meal with 2 glasses of water and it did absolutely nothing for curbing my appetite or sweet tooth. I work out 4 days a week (running 3-4 miles per session) and weight training. What has worked for me is a protein shake in the morning with flax seed and psyllium fibre. PGX is not worth it especially the discomfort of swallowing three gigantic pills 3x a day!

I started using PGX and found that if I didnt drink alot of water I would get headaches, the pills seem to work as they have stopped my constant eating and I found that I am not looking for muchies late afternoon. I have read all the pro and cons and I feel that this is a product that isnt for everyone. I have maintained two pills for each meal as 3 or even 4 was way to much for me. Maintaining and good and healthy diet with all that everyone knows in a diet plan helps, these pills are my kick start what I needed. I lose weight!

Hi I have epilepsy which is triggered by certain chemicals in foods & supplements . Is it safe to take PGX daily for epilepsy on the whole.

If I was able to take it it would be mainly for Balancing my blood sugar levels as many epileptics have this problems.

I also wondered if it would be safe to take along with my epilepsy medication. I am taking Lamictal 100 mg a day & Keppra 2,000 mg per day.

    Thanks Craig

Works for me! I am not overweight but I do binge snack and carb-out sometimes. I gained 8lbs in the last few months. PGX helps a lot!!! I have no side effects but I only take 3 a day.

If you are over weight PGX will take sometime and many pills for it to work on you. It is not a magic pill that will make an obese person instantly full!

If you are looking to shed 5-15lbs this will work! If you are looking to shed 50-100lbs you need to see a doctor and be on more than PGX.

Hi Everyone, very interesting reading the comments. Well as you all know the only real way to loosing weight is to watch what you eat and exercise. since retiring from military service I found I gained weight fast! And I got lazy. I have Diabetes type II and it has been extremely difficult keeping the weight off. I don’t think there are any miracle cures out there for weight loss and as said eating right (cut out the sugar stuff and fried foods etc smaller portions etc) and getting some exercise will be very beneficial. I took PGX and then moved onto to drinking a glass of water in the morning, followed by no sugar Metamucil, drinking a cup of coffee with small amount of cream, then drinking a whey protein drink as they say you need protein first thing in the morning, not breads. Then just trying to focus on keeping busy for the next couple of hours and then having some eggs (I like scrambled with a touch of olive oil), drink tea in the afternoon, then a small dinner and it is has been working for me. If I do feel like I need to eat then I will mix up another protein whey drink. Hope this helps you. George:)

PGX is a miracle pill. I think those who have had problems with it, don’t take it properly. I have a friend like that who never bothers to read instructions and then complained it didn’t work. He wasn’t drinking enough water with it. I take two before lunch and two before supper with plenty of water. The key to taking it is timing, you should take it at least 20 minutes before eating and make sure you have enough water. As with an increase in fibre, you have to gradually increase it. I never had any gastrointestinal issues with it but then I’m used to fibre even though I also have a sensitive stomach.

What is miraculous for me is that it stops my cravings. I crave sugar big time especially pop and candies. I crave them constantly but not when I am taking PGX. I actually went 30 days without any pop and I was drinking it every day. I didn’t want it with PGX. I finally had some because I was so worried that the cravings would hit big time and I would go on a huge binge but it didn’t happen. Normally when I eat sugary candy like Ju Jubes, I can’t stop at one or two, I eat the whole bag. But with PGX, I can be satisfied with a couple. And I lost 4 lbs the first week without changing my diet or exercising. My only problem with PGX is remembering to take them at least 20 minutes before I eat and they are expensive. But if they can conquer my cravings, then they are worth it.
